Versioned Ruleset CRS-2025-03-25 & Statutory Invariants
The CRSFlow Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) engine calculates Express Entry scores using authoritative Government of Canada Ministerial Instructions respecting Express Entry and Canada Gazette Part I amendments.
Core Mathematical Invariants
- Maximum Grand Total: Exactly 1,200 points.
- Core / Human Capital Factors: Maximum 500 points without an accompanying spouse; 460 points with an accompanying non-citizen spouse.
- Spousal Integrity: Candidates married to or in a common-law partnership with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident are evaluated under the 500-point single-applicant schedule with 0 spouse factor points.
- Second Official Language Cap with Spouse: Under Ministerial Instructions Section 16(2), second official language points with an accompanying spouse are capped at 22 points (even when 4 abilities × 6 points = 24).
- Skill Transferability: Exactly 100 points maximum across all groups, with individual 50-point sub-caps on education combinations, foreign work combinations, and trade certificates.
- Additional Points: Exactly 600 points maximum across provincial nomination (600), French bilingual proficiency (25 or 50), Canadian post-secondary education (15 or 30), and sibling in Canada (15).
- Job-Offer / Arranged Employment Points: Effective March 25, 2025, arranged employment points were removed from the Comprehensive Ranking System under Canada Gazette Part I amendments. Exactly 0 points are awarded.
Language Equivalencies
Language test scores are converted per ability (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking) according to official IRCC benchmark schedules for CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training, PTE Core, TEF Canada, and TCF Canada.
